Lavender & Leopard

After selecting this outfit I knew I had to jazz it up. I love these shoes as they are so stylish yet comfortable.

I don't know why badly dressed people always say they dress in PJs and sweats for instance, because it's comfortable. Being fashionable can be comfortable! Or they say that it takes money to be fashionable. With a little effort and knowledge, being fashionable can be affordable. That is one of the main reasons I have this blog- to show women they can look fabulous on a budget. It's not about being vain or anything but it helps with confidence in one self. I always say if I don't feel good I might as well look good. At least that's one positive. ^_^

Billboard Music Awards May 2014

The Billboard Music Awards were held on May 18 2014 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The performances included Shakira, J.Lo, Lorde, Iggy Azalea & Arianne Grande, Ricky Martin, Carrie Underwood & Miranda Lambert.

Most notably was the hologram performance by Michael Jackson. Some people thought the performance was great by Michael Jackson but a lot of people thought it was creepy.

Now on to the fashion. We had more misses than hits with this award I thought.

 ***  HITS  ***
These ladies of country music look great.

This woman is in her 40s yet she looks better than many girls half her age. Simply stunning!

Simple but very interesting.

Simple dress, statement shoes.

This is how to wear shorts on the red carpet.
Also the picture below.

Simple again but very interesting. Less can be more.
This is a HUGE improvement from how Kesha normally looks.

***  BORDERLINE  ***

This would have been a hit if there wasn't 'underboob'. It's sacrilege to do this to a Alexander McQueen dress.

She looks like she's going to a garden party. She looks nice though.

This is too much boob. I feel like they're about to fall out. I'm sure her stylist double stick taped the hell out of that top.

This is a Zuhair Murad dress and it's gorgeous but this isn't the right dress for this event.
This dress is a little boring for the event and doesn't do Shania  much justice.

I preferred Shakira's performance outfit. There's something off about this look. The shoes are too clunky.
Jordan looks smoking but hate the canerows.

***  WTH- What the heck? ... aka the 'Misses'   ***

Some people like this look... I just don't.

We can see her bra!

Nice shoes.........

Really Natasha? Nice shoes though.

No words................

Baileys Rum Cream

The colour of this cardigan reminds me of rum cream. ^_^. Funny enough though I don't drink it. I don't drink milk. I'm not lactose intolerant, I just don't like the taste of it. I guess I got that also from my mother.

I added pearls to make the look more classic. There's nothing like wearing white and pearls. The pearl necklace belonged to my Grandma. She was the greatest. I miss her so much. It hasn't even been a year since she died but it feels like so much longer. She was truly my happy place. RIP Winsome Robotham.

Kentucky Derby May 2014

I know the Kentucky Derby is about an actual horse race but I don't even know who wins or anything. I just love the fashion, in particular the hats.

Some women go all out and wear very interesting hats. Its like the royal wedding where hat designers were given some much deserved recognition. The ladies also tend to dress more conservative, classic and demure but never forgetting to serve some fierce fashion making the hat the focal point.

I find myself doing research about events such as these, where I didn't even know why they were being held, but knew that celebrities & fashionistas were out on display.

The Kentucky Derby is a yearly event, since 1875, where three year old thoroughbred horses run in a Grade I stakes race. The race is often known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports" as well as "The Run for the Roses". The winner is usually draped in a blanket of roses. This year's winner was California Chrome. Congratulations!
