Statement necklaces are a great way to add some pizazz to an outfit- they make a statement.

Stripes and blue

As the work week goes by I tend to get more casual. Mondays and Tuesdays I'll wear a jacket as I have meetings. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I'll wear button down shirts and cardigans. I select my outfits on a Sunday and my jewellery and shoes the night before.

I am very organized and a little OCD. It works for me and it helps me make some sort of order in my busy life. I don't waste time in the mornings spinning around putting on clothes and changing them because I don't like how they look. If i don't like it I go to another pre-selected outfit. I wake up 40 minutes before I leave my house to go to work and this includes cleaning up after my dogs and feeding them.  I eat breakfast at work, which I prepare from the night before or in the case of shakes I make on the weekend and pour out into my bottle the night before. ^_^

LOL, I digressed a bit. This shirt has several colours in it, this makes it great as I can wear it with many different colour bottoms. It has yellow, pink and blue in it.

Animal Print & Fuschia

I love me some animal print. ^_^

I wanted to add some colour to this outfit, to brighten it up. I added this cardigan. I love cardigans. They are appropriate for work and aren't rigid. hey also come in very handy for me as this top is actually sleeveless and I wouldn't be able to wear it to work ordinarily. They can add some more mileage to your wardrobe.

Top - Charlotte Russe (US$10, sale)
Pants- old (US$10)
Shoes- Bandolino, 6pm.com (US$29.99)

~* Island Frugalista*~ find: Nordic Ware Popcorn Popper

I am a frugal person, not by choice initially but by necessity. I've always had to make a dollar stretch, and working in investments, I'm all about making my money work for me.

I've been trying to lead a healthier lifestyle and incorporate small, healthier choices into my daily tasks/routine.

On my journey I found out that my absolute favourite snack, popcorn, was loaded with fat and additives that were not good for me. The calorie content isn't that bad but it's the fat content that was really shocking to me when I entered it in my food tracker on www.Sparkpeople.com. I would usually eat 2 microwave popcorn bags at a time. Yikes!

It was hard to cut out my favourite snack all together so I sought a way to make it healthier. I used to have an air popper years earlier but didn't really like it. I would have to add the salt after and would have to add a lot of salt to make it taste half decent.

In reading a fitness lifestyle blog, www.sarahfit.com, Sarah wrote about a device where it was an healthier option and easy to use- Nordic Ware Popcorn popper. I immediately went to Amazon to see how I could get my hands on one. Even better, it costs between US$8-12. Score! I order 1 and got it the next time I went to NYC to see my mother.

It's so easy to use too. Just add 1/3 cup kernels, add oil (optional)- I usually spray a little PAM or add a little olive oil, and sprinkle some a little sea salt on it (2 shakes). Cover it with the lid and put it in the microwave. I had to do a little testing to see what amount of time yielded the best results. I burnt a couple batches at first. My microwave is 1100V and it's perfectly done in 3 minutes 25 seconds. ^_^

You can add other seasonings if you like also.

I burnt up one by leaving it too long in the microwave; and accidentally melted the cover of the top (left it on the toaster oven by mistake). I've ordered for myself, my sisters and my mother.

I've found it to be a lot cheaper to buy the kernels versus microwave popcorn and it yields a lot more also. I get the 2lb bag at Walmart for US$1.88. Score!

Tuxedo Jacket & Roses

If you read my blog, you know that I love love love wearing black and white. They are the same colours but one can wear them in so many ways.

I especially love these shoes. I started composing this ensemble with the shoes. They are not the easiest to wear as they don't go with everything due to the pattern. They are too pretty to be limited by that. I went for a more monochromatic look with the clothes to make the shoes work. Score!

Jacket- Forever 21, sale (US$15.99)
