Seeing circles

I love love love love love wearing black & white. I have had this dress for years and have never worn it (like some other items in my wardrobe). It's a nice dress. It's a great way to wear a pattern.

I thought about wearing it with a jacket to make it more work appropriate but then I thought I'd add a skinny belt and voila!

I love coral. I thought of adding a red belt but that's so expected & I wanted to be a bit different. The dress wasn't too tight or too lose & the belt accentuated my curves.

I had selected this outfit, as I normally do on Sunday, and wore it on the day of my company's staff meeting. I got so many compliments & felt great.

It's funny, I take all almost all of my pictures after work when I get home. No time in the mornings but I still look decent at the end of the day :p.

Chocolate Bunny

I love wearing monochromatic ensembles. It's said to create a visual effect of being slimming. God knows I could use that, lol, then again what woman doesn't want to look slimmer?

I got this gold & brown pearl necklace as a free gift while buying other jewellery at a store in Manhattan. I had never worn it but when I put this outfit together I had to wear it. Perfect!!! It's really long so I folded it in three to make it more bold. I had a similar bracelet so wore it also.

Handsfree conversations while driving

I normally connect my phone to the car's radio to listen to my music. I never thought I could use it to have conversations hands-free.

One day I had a light bulb moment and wondered if I'd be able to hear the person & if they would hear me if I connected my phone to the car during a call. It worked! I don't drive a fancy car where the phone can be connected to the car nor answers the phone with the touch of a button on the steering wheel.

Here's how it works. I have a radio with AUX input. I use my AUX cable and put one end in my phone & the other in the AUX port. While the call is in progress I select "headset". I have a Blackberry phone so that's what comes up.

It isn't completely hands-free where it will answer the call for you, but you should safely answer the call and select "headset".

Please don't do this while driving and take your eyes off the road. Come to a complete stop or pull over if you have to. I sometimes connect my phone as soon as I get in the car in case someone calls & I don't have to be scrambling to find the AUX cable and to connect the phone. Also please exercise caution while having a conversation on the phone and driving. Doing this reduces our focus on the road especially if multitasking is not your forte.

Basically once your phone has a port where the AUX cable can fit, it should work. AUX cables are quite inexpensive, it cost me about J$150 (US$1.36). You can borrow one and test it to see if it works before purchasing one.

Fushia & Mustard

I love wearing colour. I started picking this outfit with the shoes. These aren't your every day shoes. I also didn't want to match the shoe exactly which is why I chose this mustard skirt. I added a statement necklace to tie in the thin strip of orange in the shoes with the rest of the outfit.

As I've mentioned before I like to wear 3 colours at a time if I can- the Trifecta. Today's outfit combines mustard, fushia and orange. The purple in the tip is brawta- a Jamaican term meaning extra.

Cardigan- Gap (US$13, sale)
Skirt- Seamstress (US$10)

Necklace- Charlotte Russe (US$10)

Paris Fashion Week Fall/Autumn March 2014

Paris Fashion Week was held last week and the shows were fantastic!

The creativity, the glamour, the celebrities......
Chanel.
They had a supermarket as the back drop for their show- how novel!!

Elie Saab.
One of my favourite designers. They channeled the red carper for this collection. Sheer elegance!

Emanuel Ungaro.
Love their version of a ruffle skirt.

Giambattista Valli.
Love the colours & patterns.

Givenchy.
Love the shoes. I can just see Cate Blanchett in one of these gowns.

Kenzo.
Love the prints and the layering- some outfits could be worn separately.

Louis Vitton.
The collection could be worn every day.

Alexander McQueen.
This show looked like Chronicles of Narnia meets a Tim Burton movie.

Max Simoen.
Black & white in many different ways.

Prada.
Rain wear chic.

Saint Laurent.
Looks like little Red Riding Hood grown up and stylish.

Stella McCartney.
Lots of over sized coats.

Valentino.
Ode to the medieval princess.

Periwinkle Nights

I can't remember where exactly I was going in this ensemble but I was going out of the town! ^_^.

I love the colour-periwinkle! Those of us that had the big box of crayola crayons as children would know the names of colours such as periwinkle.

These shoes were so comfy too- I danced the night away.

Grey ladylike ruffles

I seem to have a lot of grey items in my wardrobe. I didn't even notice. It's in taking pictures for the blog and doing the posts that I realize I wear full grey a lot. LOL.

Ruffles are so ladylike. Even though I have a larger chest, I still wear some ruffles. I also love this skirt as it has the split in the front.

Shirt- Burlington (US$15)
Skirt- Old
Shoes- Nine West (US$30)
Bracelet- Pandora

BAFTA Awards Feb 16 2014

American celebrities journeyed across the Pond to join the British celebrities for the BAFTA awards. Us fashionistas, love these award shows for the fashion.

***BEST DRESSED***
Angelina looks so effortlessly chic. Who knew looking undone could look so great?
Brad- oh! He's so good looking he doesn't have to do a thing. Yum!

Lupita does it again. She would have been my best dressed if Brad & Angie didn't turn up. She is stunning.
Amy looks lovely darling (as the British would say :p)

This is a little conservative for Cate Blanchett but she is a fashion chameleon

Eleanor Tomlinson brought some colour to the red carpet but I'm not too sure about this one at all.

Nice dress, with a lot of detail work, but the sleeves age Fearne Cotton a bit.
The hair also should have been slicked back or pinned up.

Dame Helen Mirren looks great.
Prince William  joked that he should have probably called her Granny while handing her her award. Mirren played Queen Elizabeth in a film in 2006.

Imogene Poots serves up some fierce fashion

Dame Judi Dench still going strong.

I don't know where Laura Carmichael was going in this outfit. She must have thought she was going to a casual dinner, not the BAFTAs.

Maggie Gyllenhaal looks so much older than she is. She sadly usually does.

Naomie Harris a.k.a Miss Moneypenny would make James Bond do a double take in this dress.

Oprah Winfrey in Stella McCartney

I love this look Ruth Wilson is wearing- the pops of colours are fabulous.

This is just wrong on so many levels but I have to give it to Sally Farmiloe for getting out of the house.

My choice for second best dressed couple- Sam Claflin & Laura Haddock.

Samantha Barks looks amazing in Calvin Klein.

I'm sorry but Sophie Kennedy-Clark needs to stand up straight.

I'd maybe like this dress if it wasn't in this fabric... and maybe the colour.
Camila Alves did this look a whole lot better at the Oscars.
