Animal Print & Fuschia

I love me some animal print. ^_^

I wanted to add some colour to this outfit, to brighten it up. I added this cardigan. I love cardigans. They are appropriate for work and aren't rigid. hey also come in very handy for me as this top is actually sleeveless and I wouldn't be able to wear it to work ordinarily. They can add some more mileage to your wardrobe.

Top - Charlotte Russe (US$10, sale)
Pants- old (US$10)
Shoes- Bandolino, 6pm.com (US$29.99)

Green with Animal Print

I love wearing animal print. From my blog posts, my outfits often include animal print.

I could have paired this with red, as most people do, but I usually don't do what everyone else does.

On a side note, I love being different. Normal is so overdone. I used to hate being different as a teenager but as I grew older, I accepted my uniqueness and I revel in it. ^_^. I love being creatively different and unexpected with my fashion choices.

I wore my crocs with this outfit as my ankle was injured.

Style Maven- Olivia Palermo

I first saw this young lady in 2009 on the spin-off of "The Hills" - "The City". She was a mega *itch and I didn't like her very much or how she treated Whitney. I must say though in the years after the show I kept seeing her style being highlighted and her pictures on shows on Style, E!, etc. and other media publications.

One thing was undeniable, this girl had style and was fast becoming one to watch and quite the style maven.

She has quite a history in fashion- being a model & working for Diane Von Furstenburg & Elle. I love that she has a dog (I'm a dog lover ^_^), mixes patterns & prints; and especially LOVE that she wears flats quite a bit. Some women feel flats are only functional & not stylish but she shows that flats are acceptable. There are days I just don't feel like wearing heels but still want to look cute; or my feet hurt from wearing some heels the days before & just need a break.

So I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE shoes. Her taste in shoes is impeccable!!!!!

Such great style....

This girl loves a poufy, fringe skirt.

These shoes are to die!!!

This reminds me of Carey Bradshaw

Love how she puts together two animal prints

Pretty in pastels

Great mix of colours and fabric textures

She must be channelling Jackie-O

Fab, fab, fab... Look how she mixes the hounds tooth pattern with lace in the 3rd outfit.

Look at her cute doggie!

She knows she'll be snapped walking her dog (there are so many dog walking pics of her) but she dresses more on the casual side. Practical & stylish!

She even wears flats at events, not just while running around town :)

Dressed to the nine.

She either has a clutch or an over-sized bag in tote. Have to put the cell phone & lip gloss somewhere right?

Love this look, something I'd definitely wear.

Animal print & teal

As mentioned in a previous post, I'm really liking animal print. Some people even view it as a neutral. As pictured below the top I have one below has the neutrals in it of black, grey and white.

I wanted to wear a skirt with this top to go to a party and I didn't have a black or white or grey skirt that I liked to pair it with. In my search I came across this skirt, I hadn't worn it yet so I put it up against the shirt & it worked!

Top- Charlotte Russe (US$15, sale)
Skirt- Forever 21 (US10, sale)
Shoes - Marshall's (US$20, sale)
Sorry about the resolution on this photo.

Jersey-fied ==> animal print

It's not just the ladies of New Jersey that love animal print, as I sure do. Now I must admit, the trend had to grow on me a bit but after watching Jerseylicious, Real Housewives of New Jersey & Jersey Shore I just love it. I'm convinced I can wear it in a much classier way than some of the ladies on these shows and not make it look trashy.

One of my fashion pet peeves is that I hate when people wear brown and black together as very rarely people wear it the way I like. With animal print however it's the perfect way to wear black and brown. The print shown below can be worn with a black, brown, beige, white even a blue bottom. This therefore stretches the functionality and the # of outfits that this top can go with (see my previous post about Building your wardrobe- work attire).

My mom got me these shoes on sale (bless her shoe & deal loving heart- hence where I got it from). At first I was like yuck black and brown together but then (angels singing) I loved it. I'm like "Dang these are hot" and I had to find the right outfit to incorporate black & brown.

Fifty shades of gray.... well maybe 4 shades of gray

Shirt - Charlotte Russe US$10 (sale)
Cardigan- Old Navy US$15 (sale)
Shirt- Gap (got from Mommy)
Shoes- Nine West US$10 (Marshall's)

I felt like wearing pieces today by following a monochromatic colour scheme. I added some animal print to give it some jolt. I swear I have this new found love with animal print,  probably a result of watching too many New Jersey shows like Jersey Shore & Jerseylicious. LOL. Animal print can be worn tastefully and it actually isn't tacky.

These are the earrings I wore. They are light pink and purple. I thought they'd be a nice contrast with the outfit and they went pretty well with the whole outfit. ^_^
