Ronalda Ann Use veggie scraps to grow more food. Celery, onions, green onions, garlic potatoes can be used to grow more food. I currently do this for celery and green onions. I cut off the bottom and stick them in a little container with some water and leave it by the kitchen window for some sunlight, but not direct sunlight. After about 7 days, I move them to the garden. You can google for more details. You're throwing away money when you throw out those parts of the food that you don't eat or use. Every mickle, makes a muckle! Every bit counts.
