Mint chocolate

I love these shoes (also shown here & here). With them being mint (pastel green) though, they don't exactly go with everything but that's not going to stop me. Neutral coloured (black, brown, grey & beige/nude) shoes are staples in any wardrobe but after having the basics (see my post here on building a wardrobe for work), one can have a little fun with shoes that aren't neutral coloured. I have mint coloured articles of clothing and accessories and I make it work.

I started this ensemble with the shoes, then I added the shirt to tie in the shoes. I of course needed more to wear with it so I decided to do a jacket & bottom with the same colour. The top is sleeveless so I had to wear a jacket or sweater with it. Voila!

Coral & baby blue

I love coral colored clothes (as seen here, here & here). I think it goes so well with my skin tone. It's also not pink. Most girls like pink and I like to be different. I hate wearing pink as it's expected that because I'm a girl I must love pink. It's a nice color and I wear it, but it's not my favorite.

This dress was a bit big on the top. I recently gave it to my dressmaker/seamstress to take it in. It's also sleeveless & see through in the back so to make it work appropriate, I wore a cardigan.

I wanted to wear a nice complementary color with the dress. It's so much fun playing with colors with one's outfits.^_^

Color Blocked

I love this dress. It's right in trend with the color blocking look. It's also so easy to wear.

It has multiple colors also which makes it more versatile. I can wear a black, grey or yellow jacket or cardigan as well as accessories. In fact I wore it previously with a black cardigan and black pumps.

Blooming fabulous

I love this cardigan especially because it has numerous colours in it and it can be worn with several items. As discussed in a previous post, it's good to have articles of clothing that have more than one colour in it as it can be paired with other items.

The cardigan also adds colour to my all black ensemble. I added some red pumps for even more colour.

Coral Tribal Overalls

I seem to have a few tribal items in my wardrobe (here, here, here, here & here). It happened by accident I suppose. I didn't set out to buy tribal inspired clothes. Funny how that happens ^_^.

I do however intentionally buy coral coloured clothing. I just love the colour. Next to black clothing, it's my second favourite colour of clothing. I feel it does something for my skin tone,

Black & Red

I love this jacket. Why you may ask? Well it's not heavy nor bulky and it's lightweight; and especially because I got it and such a great price- US$10!

I've also worn it here.

If you follow my post, you know I love wearing black but sometimes I have to add a bit of colour and this jacket was perfect!

A tribe called....Resort Chic

I just realized I have other posts with tribal print clothes in them (here, here & here). I didn't realize I had that much of the print in my wardrobe, Funny how things happen like that.

I had worn this ensemble coming home from a staff overnight trip at Iberostar Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Iberostar is a very lovely and big hotel. The food and staff was very good.

I was channeling my resort look.

Checkered Flag

As a follower of my blog, you know I love to wear black and white. If it ain't broke right?

I also don't like to wear red with the pairing as everyone does that and I love to be different. ^_^ I added this sweater to add some colour & brightness to my ensemble.

I've had a post wearing similar colours (New York Taxi). Same colours, different look.

Grey & Black

I'm a girl that loves wearing black clothes. Love it, love it, love it.

I also love this jacket for the embroidery detail at the edges, such intricate detail and adds a touch of femininity. I got this jacket made when I started working full time 9 years ago. It can't close anymore due to a larger chest now but I could not give it away. I just wear it open now. ^_^.

Black and blue... with leopard

If you are a follower of my blog, you would have noticed that I have quite a few items in my wardrobe that are animal print.

When I saw this top on the sale rack I had to have it. I had never worn it to work before and it's sleeveless. Enter the cardigan- the amazing wardrobe extender!

The shoes I'm wearing I had had for a number of years and certainly did their time. I had worn them out indeed. This was the last time I had worn them. A moment of silence for my shoes please..... ^_^. It's really hard for me to let go of shoes. They have to really look bad for me to throw them out or give them away.

Tuxedo Jacket & Roses

If you read my blog, you know that I love love love wearing black and white. They are the same colours but one can wear them in so many ways.

I especially love these shoes. I started composing this ensemble with the shoes. They are not the easiest to wear as they don't go with everything due to the pattern. They are too pretty to be limited by that. I went for a more monochromatic look with the clothes to make the shoes work. Score!

Black & blue: 2 in 1

I love wearing black but wearing black doesn't have to be boring.

I'm not girly girly, you think yea right, but I really am a tomboy on the inside as I was as a teenager. I love lady like details in clothes though, such as lace and ruffles. I love lace. It's a little weird but I think it can be classic, lady like, proper AND sexy. I fell in love with this skirt when I saw in online at Forever 21. This look is lady like, work appropriate but with a little sass- a modern and fashionable way to wear lace.

I actually wore this on a Friday to work; and went for drinks and dinner after as is. ^_^. This is how you can transition from day to evening to night.

Camouflage...can you see me? ^_^

I'm not really a fan of camouflage but when  saw this shirt, I thought it was a very chic and modern way to wear the print. I also that I could wear it to work. Most of the items I buy these days have to pass the "can I wear it to work?" test. I basically just go to work and home - I don't really go out regularly except for the partying seasons (summer & Christmas). So if I can't wear it to work, I won't wear it much nor will I get mileage out of the item. I have so much clothes and don't wear most of it often. I have the same thought process with shoes. I have soooo many shoes that I don't wear often and often times they sit and dry rot- which is a grand waste of money and a shoe!. Sigh. I have to be more penny-wise these days.

German connection

I love this mustard skirt. I started the outfit selection with the skirt, then chose the red jacket, then needed an inner blouse and chose this black one. I kept thinking what is red, yellow and black... It wasn't until doing this post and googling the colours did I realize that they were the colours in the German flag. Go figure! My mother went to Germany couple years ago and said the countryside was so beautiful.

I wanted to not wear black shoes with the outfit so upon looking at my collection I decided to wear my leopard flats. My feet wear hurting also from working out the day before so I didn't want to wear heels.
