Royally Grey in GAP

Purple is the colour of royalty. I love wearing purple coloured clothes.

I've actually worn this combination of colours in a previous post but with different articles of clothing.

I love wearing sweaters to work. I usually wear them on a Thursday or Friday, as I get more casual as the week goes on.

I got these items at the GAP Outlet at Sawgrass Mills Mall in Florida. I had so much fun in this store. The prices were great and the quality of the clothes were good especially the pants. I got more discounts by purchasing a US$5 GAP tote bag and I could use the bag throughout the year for more discounts. Score!

Orange & Grey

Have you ever found some great deals at the flea market? I did with this skirt. I got it for US$3. Yes, seriously! It's a Gap skirt too. It takes some work sometimes to weed through to find nicer pieces, but the cost is the best part. I've found some really nice clothes from the flea market and some were even brands I knew. I've gotten a few Gap, H&M, Banana Republic and other brand name items and all for less than US$5.

It may be second hand but unless I told you, you'd never know. It's like getting hand me downs from an older relative. Some people turn their noses up to thrift shopping but as long as it looks fine, I have no issue. The savings benefit is definitely something to smile about. ^_^ and you can take THAT to the bank! You just have to check that there are no visible tears or snags and that the buttons and zips are good.

Orange & Houndstooth

I love wearing black and white, and houndstooth has both.

I've worn this print (here, here, here, here & here). LOL I've actually worn this skirt quite a bit.

What my previous posts demonstrate, is that one can wear black and white with essentially any bright color or any color that pops.

Coral & baby blue

I love coral colored clothes (as seen here, here & here). I think it goes so well with my skin tone. It's also not pink. Most girls like pink and I like to be different. I hate wearing pink as it's expected that because I'm a girl I must love pink. It's a nice color and I wear it, but it's not my favorite.

This dress was a bit big on the top. I recently gave it to my dressmaker/seamstress to take it in. It's also sleeveless & see through in the back so to make it work appropriate, I wore a cardigan.

I wanted to wear a nice complementary color with the dress. It's so much fun playing with colors with one's outfits.^_^

Checkerboard

Sometimes a girl needs a bold color to pull together an outfit. What better than a red jacket? ^_^

I absolutely love these shoes but given the amount of cut outs I decided to wear them with pants.

My office's dress code doesn't allow a lot of your foot to show- conservative banking environment. There are ways around those things though so that I can make it work appropriate. One can make an item that wouldn't on its own be a little questionable. My blog is filled with examples.

Yellow & gray

Some days you just don't feel like wearing a jacket to work. I wear jackets Mondays & Tuesdays now, down from 3 days a week, as I have more button down shirts & cardigans than I do jackets. I hate repeating an outfit and this allows me to have more options.

One can look office appropriate without being restricted to a jacket. :)

Queen bee

I love wearing black & white (here, here, here, here). I also like NOT wearing black & white with red. I try to be different.

In doing this post, however, I've noticed I like to wear black & white with yellow (here & here).  LOL. Hence, the title of this post. I look like a bee. Also I'm the only female left in my department for the last 2 months and my friend started calling me Queen Bee recently. :)

I love my GAP sweaters. They really are quality and I got them at the GAP Outlet in Sawgrass so they were less than US$20! Score! So you see you can get quality for a great price.

Grey, white & animal print

I love me some animal print. I've done numerous posts with outfits that have animal print (here, here, here, here, here- too many posts to put here, these are just a few).

I've had this top for years. I've worn it before to a party in this post too. It's actually sleeveless but I put on a cardigan or jacket over a sleeveless top to make it work appropriate. ^_^. This also aids in getting more mileage out of your wardrobe.

Blooming fabulous

I love this cardigan especially because it has numerous colours in it and it can be worn with several items. As discussed in a previous post, it's good to have articles of clothing that have more than one colour in it as it can be paired with other items.

The cardigan also adds colour to my all black ensemble. I added some red pumps for even more colour.

Black & Red

I love this jacket. Why you may ask? Well it's not heavy nor bulky and it's lightweight; and especially because I got it and such a great price- US$10!

I've also worn it here.

If you follow my post, you know I love wearing black but sometimes I have to add a bit of colour and this jacket was perfect!

Fuchsia & white

I couldn't decide which one of these pictures to post so I'm posting both. ^_^

I love these shoes, they are from my favourite brand Nine West. It had a splash of orange in it as well as pink & purple. I usually have to start the outfit with the shoes first, as this shoe doesn't exactly go with everything. I just love this fuchsia cardigan & the white eyelet cotton dress.

Checkered Flag

As a follower of my blog, you know I love to wear black and white. If it ain't broke right?

I also don't like to wear red with the pairing as everyone does that and I love to be different. ^_^ I added this sweater to add some colour & brightness to my ensemble.

I've had a post wearing similar colours (New York Taxi). Same colours, different look.

Animal Print & Fuschia

I love me some animal print. ^_^

I wanted to add some colour to this outfit, to brighten it up. I added this cardigan. I love cardigans. They are appropriate for work and aren't rigid. hey also come in very handy for me as this top is actually sleeveless and I wouldn't be able to wear it to work ordinarily. They can add some more mileage to your wardrobe.

Green with Animal Print

I love wearing animal print. From my blog posts, my outfits often include animal print.

I could have paired this with red, as most people do, but I usually don't do what everyone else does.

On a side note, I love being different. Normal is so overdone. I used to hate being different as a teenager but as I grew older, I accepted my uniqueness and I revel in it. ^_^. I love being creatively different and unexpected with my fashion choices.

I wore my crocs with this outfit as my ankle was injured.

Green & Navy Blue stripes

For those of us that live in Jamaica, green and navy blue are Calabar High School colours. My boss gives me a hard time when I wear this sweater because he is a Kingston College (KC)alumni; and purple & white are their colours. There is such intense rivalry between Calabar, KC and JC (Jamaica College) at track & field and other events.

I am a  KC fan myself as my father went to KC. Anyhow I was a boy, I would have gone to KC. A lot of people think the way KC old boys are, is cult like.

When my dad died, I made sure to pay homage to his high school. I requested persons to wear purple and white to the funeral; there was a purple and white casket, he wore his KC tie and wrist band - purple and white everywhere. Sigh, miss my dad. His name was Ronald, hence my name Ronalda. I wasn't named after the Brazilian footballer as sooooo many people say.

Throwing shade- Black & White

Now I love to wear black especially black on top and bottom. Hmm, love me some black ^_^. Not to mention wearing black AND white. It's such a great pairing. It's often debated as to whether black and white are colours and that they are shades.

In scientific terms, black & white are not colours. White is a mix of all colours as it reflects colour. Light appears colourless or white. Sunlight is white light that is composed of all the colors of the spectrum. A rainbow is proof. You can't see the colors of sunlight except when atmospheric conditions bend the light rays and create a rainbow. You can also use a prism to demonstrate this.

Black is the absence of all colours in terms of light, when there is no light everything is black. The debate can go on and on.

By wearing both colours, I'm essentially throwing 'shade'. It's a Southern term that is defined by the Urban Dictionary to throw shade is "to talk trash about a friend or acquaintance, to publicly denounce or disrespect. When throwing shade it's immediately obvious to on-lookers that the thrower, and not the throwee, is the bitchy, uncool one.
All these Atlanta shows have me picking up the different terminologies.

When I saw this sweater I thought it was co cute- classy yet not stuffy. What I really love about this sweater is that it looks like a jacket. Since I was wearing it to work I thought I would dress it up with some pearls. A girl can never go wrong adding some pearls to finish her outfit. Of course, I had to wear these shoes to jazz up the outfit even more.

Happy Easter!!!

Today is Good Friday. This Christian holiday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

I love Easter colours- pastel & bright yellows, pinks, greens, blues, etc.

I love these shoes and truly don't wear as often as I should. I actually bought them last year Easter on my trip to New York.

In this outfit I wanted to wear pink and green but in different shades.

Fushia & Mustard

I love wearing colour. I started picking this outfit with the shoes. These aren't your every day shoes. I also didn't want to match the shoe exactly which is why I chose this mustard skirt. I added a statement necklace to tie in the thin strip of orange in the shoes with the rest of the outfit.

As I've mentioned before I like to wear 3 colours at a time if I can- the Trifecta. Today's outfit combines mustard, fushia and orange. The purple in the tip is brawta- a Jamaican term meaning extra.

,Black & yellow, Black & yellow, Black & yellow........

This picture is from when I had more hair on my head. LOL.

As you may have noticed by now, I love me some black & white and some houndstooth.

I got this top thinking I'd try the peplum trend. It's sleeveless but I wanted to wear it to work. Instead of pairing it with a black jacket or cardigan I decided to wear some colour and added this yellow cardigan.

I'm in a cheerful mood...............

As I've mentioned before I love wearing black clothes, as I love the way it contrasts with my skin tone. I've been trying to acquire bright coloured clothing to add to my wardrobe.

I was in a cheerful mood and wanted to go all out with wearing colour, instead my usual adding colourful accents.

I've been wanting to wear this dress for a while. It's sleeveless but that wasn't going to stop me. I thought pink goes with yellow, so I picked this cardigan. I also love to wear three colours if I can and wanted an accessory that was bright but also contrasting. My final task was to select a shoe that would complement the whole ensemble. What better than nude/cream shoes?

Perfection!!!
