It's been 2 years!!!......Zebra jacket

I can't believe that it's been 2 years that I've had this blog. My first post was April 21 2013. Wow, where does the time go?

Over the 2 years I often wondered what was the point of this blog and who really cares. I do. This is something I do for myself and hope that 1 other person will read it and it may help or inspire another person. I work in a field that is not my passion. I'm good at it but it wasn't my first choice, though I am grateful for all that I have achieved and where I am at. However, being artistic and creative is my passion and it makes me happy. For now, I express myself through my blog, my cupcakes and jewellery. It helps to balance me.

I love this jacket. Besides, it being black & white, I love the fit and structure of it.

I was a bit matchy matchy but I didn't care, I wanted to wear these shoes. :).

Color Blocked

I love this dress. It's right in trend with the color blocking look. It's also so easy to wear.

It has multiple colors also which makes it more versatile. I can wear a black, grey or yellow jacket or cardigan as well as accessories. In fact I wore it previously with a black cardigan and black pumps.

Yellow & gray

Some days you just don't feel like wearing a jacket to work. I wear jackets Mondays & Tuesdays now, down from 3 days a week, as I have more button down shirts & cardigans than I do jackets. I hate repeating an outfit and this allows me to have more options.

One can look office appropriate without being restricted to a jacket. :)

Grey, white & animal print

I love me some animal print. I've done numerous posts with outfits that have animal print (here, here, here, here, here- too many posts to put here, these are just a few).

I've had this top for years. I've worn it before to a party in this post too. It's actually sleeveless but I put on a cardigan or jacket over a sleeveless top to make it work appropriate. ^_^. This also aids in getting more mileage out of your wardrobe.

Fuchsia & white

I couldn't decide which one of these pictures to post so I'm posting both. ^_^

I love these shoes, they are from my favourite brand Nine West. It had a splash of orange in it as well as pink & purple. I usually have to start the outfit with the shoes first, as this shoe doesn't exactly go with everything. I just love this fuchsia cardigan & the white eyelet cotton dress.

Paisley

This is my mother's top. It's sleeveless actually and I did what I usually do- pair it with a cardigan to make it work appropriate.

One of my mother's favourite prints is paisley. This is print that is classic and timeless.

Black and blue... with leopard

If you are a follower of my blog, you would have noticed that I have quite a few items in my wardrobe that are animal print.

When I saw this top on the sale rack I had to have it. I had never worn it to work before and it's sleeveless. Enter the cardigan- the amazing wardrobe extender!

The shoes I'm wearing I had had for a number of years and certainly did their time. I had worn them out indeed. This was the last time I had worn them. A moment of silence for my shoes please..... ^_^. It's really hard for me to let go of shoes. They have to really look bad for me to throw them out or give them away.

Stripes and blue

As the work week goes by I tend to get more casual. Mondays and Tuesdays I'll wear a jacket as I have meetings. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I'll wear button down shirts and cardigans. I select my outfits on a Sunday and my jewellery and shoes the night before.

I am very organized and a little OCD. It works for me and it helps me make some sort of order in my busy life. I don't waste time in the mornings spinning around putting on clothes and changing them because I don't like how they look. If i don't like it I go to another pre-selected outfit. I wake up 40 minutes before I leave my house to go to work and this includes cleaning up after my dogs and feeding them.  I eat breakfast at work, which I prepare from the night before or in the case of shakes I make on the weekend and pour out into my bottle the night before. ^_^

LOL, I digressed a bit. This shirt has several colours in it, this makes it great as I can wear it with many different colour bottoms. It has yellow, pink and blue in it.

Neon stripes

Mommy lent me this skirt for a while now and I was yet to wear it. I didn't know what to really wear it with and if it would look right. Week after week when I'm selecting my outfits for the week on a Sunday, I'd look at this skirt then not bother as another skirt next to it caught my attention.

White was the obvious choice. Duh! ^_^. Voila!

Keyboard

I titled this blog post keyboard for the colours I am wearing. I love wearing black and white as shown by my outfits). It's such a classic pairing. It can be boring but that's one thing I must certainly am not.

I wore these shoes for practical reasons (my ankle injury) but also I love animal print and want to add a ice twist to this ensemble.

Black & blue: 2 in 1

I love wearing black but wearing black doesn't have to be boring.

I'm not girly girly, you think yea right, but I really am a tomboy on the inside as I was as a teenager. I love lady like details in clothes though, such as lace and ruffles. I love lace. It's a little weird but I think it can be classic, lady like, proper AND sexy. I fell in love with this skirt when I saw in online at Forever 21. This look is lady like, work appropriate but with a little sass- a modern and fashionable way to wear lace.

I actually wore this on a Friday to work; and went for drinks and dinner after as is. ^_^. This is how you can transition from day to evening to night.

L&L- Lavender & Leopard

This is an ensemble from my "out of commission" days aka when I couldn't wear heels.

I was feeling a bit low key when I selected the clothes but wanted to jazz up the outfit with my accessories. Leopard wasn't the first thing that came to my mind but with a limited selection of flats, I thought why not leopard. I am wearing a black pants and I tied in the yellowy colour with the belt and earrings. Voila!

Tribal & animal

I don't know if it's all the Jersey shows I've watched (Jerseylicious, Jersey Shore, Real Housewives of New Jersey, etc) why I've been loving animal print more and more, but I do.

Tribal print is also been trending for the last year or so. So "let our powers combine" they said. LOL. Those who used to watch the cartoon Captain Planet should get the reference. ^_^.

I've mentioned in other posts that I sometimes wear sleeveless tops to work to extend my work wardrobe. I can't wear sleeveless to work so I wore a cardigan with it.

I'm so pleased now as I can wear heels. I went to another doctor, a specialist, and he told me that wearing flats (for the 2 months) was actually not good for the shape of my foot and that I was to wear 1-2 inch heels. It was a miracle as I had been in flats for 2 months, had pain & discomfort and I didn't need to be. But now I know at least :).  I still have to be a little careful but I'm back in my heels. Yay!

Baileys Rum Cream

The colour of this cardigan reminds me of rum cream. ^_^. Funny enough though I don't drink it. I don't drink milk. I'm not lactose intolerant, I just don't like the taste of it. I guess I got that also from my mother.

I added pearls to make the look more classic. There's nothing like wearing white and pearls. The pearl necklace belonged to my Grandma. She was the greatest. I miss her so much. It hasn't even been a year since she died but it feels like so much longer. She was truly my happy place. RIP Winsome Robotham.

Green with envy...

I like wearing monochromatic ensembles. It's often slenderizing and easier to put together. It's also nice when you can put together different shades of the same colour as I did.

I thought I'd jazz it all up by adding some leopard print shoes.

They call me mellow yellow.....

I love this mustard skirt. It's like the new black, it goes with so many other colours and it's like a neutral for me. I paired it with a shirt in a different shade of yellow and also with some pattern to give the whole ensemble some visual interest.

The shoes I'm wearing are the first pair of expensive shoes I bought for work. They are Unisa. I wasn't earning much, as I was fresh out of college, and to me the shoes were about twice what I'd spend on a shoe but I just loved them. I especially loved the view of the shoe from the side- the profile. For me I can't like a shoe if I don't like the profile of the shoe. They were a good buy too as the shoe is still in good condition.

O how just talking about these shoes make me miss wearing heels. With my twisted ankle I haven't worn heels for 2 months now. I've gotten and X-ray & done some physio but I think I'm going to have to go see another doctor for a second opinion and get another X-ray done. Sigh, I just really miss my heeled shoes. I don't have as wide a variety as I do other shoes.

The Wolverine

You might wonder, why I titled this post 'The Wolverine". I'm wearing the colours of The Wolverine- blue, black and yellow.

OMG I'm in love with Hugh Jackman- HOTTT!!!!. Talk about digressing but seriously a moment of silence for his hotness.

What's purple, teal & mustard? ...... Me!!

I was dying to wear a jewel toned outfit and wore this ensemble on my birthday last year. Ha, it's almost been a year already- gee how time flies.

For my birthday this year, the Big 3-0, I'm treating myself to a trip to Dubai. I have had my eye on a Michele watch for three years now but I thought why spend so much money on a watch I wasn't going to wear much, because I spent so much money on it. To some it may not be a lot but to me it is. Anyhoo, will definitely post pics from Dubai. I have a friend that lives there and I thought I've always wanted to travel so I wanted to have the experience rather than a watch......I still want the watch though :).

Oy mi golly, I need to tone up my tummy (eek) and make sure my undergarments are not showing so much. O my! O well you live & you learn. Still wanted to share though ;P

Black & White .... and purple

I love wearing black. I love how it contrasts with my skin tone. I was going to wear this outfit with a black sweater but wanted some colour but not just the usual red that is usually worn with black and white. Love this purple sweater. I wore some earrings that has purple, blue and dark red in it- the look like Christmas ornaments.
