Wrapped in Zebra

I did a previous post on wrap dresses some time ago. This dress I've had for years and funny enough I keep forgetting I have it. It flatters and doesn't go out of style.

I'm not one for too much cleavage. I am blessed but I believe less is more. It's good to have a little mystery and not have my 'girls' all on display. I wore a little tube top underneath to cover them up.

It's actually As Seen On TV Hip T layering accessory. It doubles as a tube top as well as a cover up for butt cleavage if you are wearing low rise bottoms. I also have the As Seen On TV Cami Secret. These come in very handy when trying to reduce cleavage.

I love wearing black and black & white also, which is another reason I love this dress.

I paired it with turquoise earrings & pendant.

Neon stripes

Mommy lent me this skirt for a while now and I was yet to wear it. I didn't know what to really wear it with and if it would look right. Week after week when I'm selecting my outfits for the week on a Sunday, I'd look at this skirt then not bother as another skirt next to it caught my attention.

White was the obvious choice. Duh! ^_^. Voila!

Baileys Rum Cream

The colour of this cardigan reminds me of rum cream. ^_^. Funny enough though I don't drink it. I don't drink milk. I'm not lactose intolerant, I just don't like the taste of it. I guess I got that also from my mother.

I added pearls to make the look more classic. There's nothing like wearing white and pearls. The pearl necklace belonged to my Grandma. She was the greatest. I miss her so much. It hasn't even been a year since she died but it feels like so much longer. She was truly my happy place. RIP Winsome Robotham.

The Trifecta

I've mentioned before that I usually like to wear three (3) colours at a time when I choose an outfit and accessories.

The trifecta of colours in this ensemble are beige, pink & green.

Fuschia- the new pink!

I'm not a girly girl, in the sense that I love the colour pink. That may be hard to believe but I actually don't as during puberty I was a tom boy.

When I saw this sweater though, I loved how rich the colour was. I also liked that it wasn't pastel pink- way too girly (LOL it's still pink!).

I started with the shoes when putting together this ensemble . Now these are statement shoes- colour blocked. So I paired them with my grey pants and wanted it to be a bit monochromatic and chose this grey top. I had the green statement necklace and I thought perfect as it wasn't the exact shade as the shoe. The whole thing was too matchy matchy with the shoes though. I decided I needed another colour- a contrasting colour.

It's funny sometimes how you can make what you already have in your wardrobe, how a new outfit can be created & how everything just comes together. My guide when accessorizing or picking my outfits is to have at least 3 colours.
